Sigh! It's as if I knew..

Monday nite went for BSF class with boss. She suddenly appeared from nowhere after the sermon & questioned me on some work. Then she got very perturbed & suggested that I should consider looking for another job as she can no longer work with me cz I frustrate her.

I really felt disgusted too cz I think she's simply too much of a workaholic & to a certain extent unreasonable (details omitted).

Tuesday nite she sms'd me that I should start to look for a job actively as she feels that I'm not suited to the job & she'll wait for me to tender. Sigh.. What to do? She's the one who insists that I can do the job & now she's the one who says I'm not suitable!!

Called her 3 hrs ago to give her my resignation verbally lor! (..since that's what she wants anyway!) Think it will better for both of us.

Was on the phone with her for 2 hrs. Though much relieved, I'm having a real bad headache now!!

4th Day of CNY:
1. Went back to office for a short while on Wed. Haiz.. RR is absolutely not dependable at all..
2. Finally I went to visit my 5th aunt. Have not visited her since she shifted to her new place.. Think that must have been more than 5 yrs ago.. Daddy already passed away for more than 6 yrs! Think she shifted there even before that.. I think.. Aiya.. not sure lah.. At least this year I managed to visit them lah..
3. Supposed to go AH but didn't go in the end. Went to Raffles Place instead.
5th Day of CNY:
1. Met Jojo for lunch at Ichiban - Boss gave us this $20 voucher so we are supposed to appreciate & consume it. Deadline was Feb 22.
2. Went Usana to buy stocks for C-jiejie..
3. PPang called but halfway mobile phone batt flat..
4. Unable to reach anyone thereafter.. So had to go home lor..
5. Mummy's god-daughter came a-visiting.. Had yusheng together.. lou-hei.. lou-hei..
6th Day of CNY:
1. Got stuck at home the entire morning.
2. Supposed to go Raffles Place but didn't manage to do so.
3. Went back to office around 3+ & found that boss was also in the office - having urgent meeting.
4. Rained heavily. Left office around 5+ since couldn't meet up with C-jiejie as she was also busy in a meeting :(
5. TV uncle came over to fix the TV.
7th Day of CNY:
1. This is the so-called 人日（人人生日）。
2. Supposed to go to brother's place for dinner, entire family inclusive of sister's children & their spouses & kid, but last minute brother called to cancel everything. Haiz.. So what's new!! As usual, it's his wife lor..
3. Back in office from 3-5pm. Then went to buy food for dinner.
4. Had dinner at our place with sister's kids & darling niece. Too much food.. Yummy..
8th Day (today):
1. Lethargic.. The thought of starting work tomorrow :(
2. Listless.. Did BSF homework..
3. Lousy.. Got another problematic issue to settle by 10pm.
4. Life.. is a chore..

TV gone bonkers.. like owner..

Yes, my TV broke down just before CNY. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I prayed over it & it resumed. Then the next round, it's off again! Then I prayed again & after a while the picture came on.. Then after that it's pitch black again! Sigh!

Yesterday saw nothing from TV at all. This morning also nothing but in the afternoon all sound & picture came back, full blast. Praise God.

Nonetheless, I think I still need to call in the TV uncle liao.. He actually just fixed my TV about 2 months ago.. Hmmm.. Only gave me a one-month guarantee lor..

Phuket

Niece is enjoying herself in Phuket now.. Just sms'd to tell me she's now sipping pina colada on an island off Phuket.. What a life!

Yes, I chickened-out.. Did not go for my appointment at the hospital to do a scope on my stomach. Went back to office to return the tapes & subsequently went a-visiting with mum & brother. I've not visited any relatives for CNY for more than 10 years! Can't remember exactly when this started but simply saw no necessity since my mummy's the biggest.. Hahaha.. Well.. I feel very T-I-R-E-D.. Think I will die of tiredness soon..

No visitors at all today. But my body is aching even more. I think it's because I carried heavy stuff yesterday. Very very tired.. Due to lack of sleep over the past weeks..

Didn't managed to get any sleep today. Wasted one whole day don't know doing what!??

Evening sister's children came over.. Her son, his wife & their 2-year old baby.. So cute.. Her daughter with her husband.. Both mum & sis were elated. We ordered pizza & had vegetarian raw fish. Hmmm.. eat & eat.. They came from around 6+ to 9+..

Last year my blood pressure was all-time high! At least this year my brother & his family are here for this CNY period. Last year I think they were all in Vietnam. And last but not least, last year my cat died. At least this CNY no cats can die on me. Hahaha.. Yes, morbid me..

I think this should be a rather interesting season to watch. Presently on AXN. Watched it this morning but was distracted several times so watching it again now. The couple came in first this round.

2nd Day of CNY..

Yes, today's the second day of the Lunar New Year.. Last year this day, that's when Mac died, although the actual day was Jan 31, 2006. When all the relatives visited us yesterday, EVERYONE, big or small, was asking about my cats :( It was so sad for me to relate their fates. Told some of the kids that they've both gone to heaven to be with the Lord. Sigh! Most were shocked & some were disappointed that the tradition of seeing cats at my place is gone. Afterall, I've been keeping cats for close to 20 years..

1st Day of CNY..

My house was literally jampacked today. I think the main reason was because it was a Sunday & everyone went to church first before going visiting. So ended up everyone came one after another around the same time in the afternoon.

Although I rearranged some furniture, shifted some junk into my room, to make room for more space, there was still not enough room for all. Those who occupied a seat remain seated while the rest were simply standing throughout. Amazing.. It was that way from 2+ till around almost 6pm! Good grief lor! Mummy & I ended up with terrible backaches. Good thing this year, brother, sis-in-law were around to help. Darling niece was also available for around an hour or so.

Normally I will give angpows to both my nieces every year. But this year I was so terribly broke that I decide not to give to them. I was pleasantly surprised when I actually received an angpow from my niece instead. Hehe.. She said because it's the 1st year that she started work so "for once" I will receive from her.. & it's only FOR ONCE ONLY! Hohoho..

CNY Eve

Brother returned yesterday from Shanghai for his CNY break. Mum, of course, was elated to see him. Well, at least this year he has the decency to arrange for reunion dinner at his place. Guess things are looking slightly better for him now..

Dinner was good. We enjoyed it as it's not the usual chicken & pork. His wife prepared some vietnamese spring rolls, salads & we also had prawns & baked crayfish. Yummy.. Of course mummy's soup was also delicious. The only regret was I did not manage to meet my darling niece as she had to leave early for another reunion dinner at the restaurant before I arrived. Well, too bad.. Guess I will see her on New Year's Day itself lor :)

My life this week..

This has really been a busy week. It passes so fast that I barely have time to look back! Mum's appt at TTSH last week brought news that she has more fluid surrounding her heart than most normal people so this week she needs to go for another test. Took leave to bring her on Monday morning. And in the afternoon she needs to see her geriatric doctor at AH. I've been so busy in the office throughout the week and zoom.. before I know it, it's Friday! And she needs to see the cardiologist this afternoon.. eve of CNY Eve.. Sigh..

I can't even recount what I have done in the office the whole week. Every night I stay till 10pm, midnight.. Double-sigh.. Very depressing.. I'm still not meeting my boss' expectations so I am seriously thinking of quitting cz I've been feeling very demoralized. Plus I'm still bogged down very much by all my personal & financial problems.

As I say.. Life has really become a chore to me..

Last CNY was not good.. This CNY lagi worse..

Actually now is already Feb 16.. But I thought this really looked nice so just want to cheat a bit & put this in for Valentine's.. Always liked sparkly things.. :)

Saturdays..

I have decided... from now onwards, all Saturdays are MY DAYS...

I feel so deprived.. so drained.. really..

So on Saturdays, I'll forget about everything (if I can).. and just do things that I enjoy.. do things for myself only..

Tired again..

Accumulatively, I think I've been suffering from ultra lack of sleep again. It's not that I've not been sleeping or I'm not sleepy. Just that I think my hours are not enough & I don't sleep at peace. It's disturbed sleep, insufficient rest & never-ending stress.. and I suspect my sleep apnae is another contributing factor :(

RR says I'm suffering from burnout cz I always stay so late in the office! Present job is very different from my previous one so I can't afford to work in the same manner, according to him.
Hmmm.. Perhaps he is right, afterall..

Sigh.. Poor old lady. Seems after that CT scan she took in November, they kind of found that she has excess fluid surrounding her heart! Stupid doctor didn't even bother to call us to inform. I think it's really ridiculous that they took so long to update us on this. I know I postponed the appointment a few times but, honestly, the onus is really on them to keep us posted should there be any abnormality in the scan!! Ignoramus! Absolute inefficiency! And to think that I've often thought highly of this hospital's service. How wrong can I be!!!

Anyway, to cut the long story short, now mum needs to go for another scan, ECHO, and after that get an appointment with the cardiologist before we know what to do next. And they are cramming everything into next week. #*&%#$!%*#&^##@..

Useless daughter... ME!

Can you beat that??? Due to last week's presentation in the office, was so busy helping in the prep that I plain forgot my mummy had a doc appt with the respiratory clinic last Friday! The staff nurse actually "tracked me down" on Saturday to confirm another appt as it seems she says the doc wants to see my mummy on her test results! Sigh! How careless & forgetful can I get. My poor mummy..

This round, I've specially applied leave to bring her to the doc. Hope nothing is wrong with her respiratory or cardio system.

I strongly suspect that I am functioning..

Jz got home. Met Jojo, her mum, & L-girl for breakfast at Balestier this morning. Then went NTUC with L-girl, thereafter adjourned to hawkers' centre opposite my place for more food :)

Caught up with all the "missing links". Found out that Jenn got married but apparently it's a hush-hush thingy to many.. Sigh! Very happy for her, actually.. You know I do love weddings.

Feeling rather moody today. Mz get out of it soon.. Monday stinks!

Within seconds, he receives an email on his Palm Pilot that the image has been processed & the data stored. He then accesses a MS-SQL database through an ODBC connected Excel spreadsheet with hundreds of complex formulas. He uploads all of this data via an email on his Blackberry &, after a few minutes, receives a response.

Finally, he prints out a full-color, 150-page report on his hi-tech, miniaturized HP LaserJet printer & finally turns to the shepherd & says, "You have exactly 1586 sheep."

"That's right. Well, I guess you can take one of my sheep." says the shepherd. He watches the young man select one of the animals & looks on amused as the young man stuffs it into the trunk of his car.

Then the shepherd says to the young man, "Hey, if I can tell you exactly what your business is, will you give me back my sheep?"

The young man thinks about it for a second & then says, "Okay, why not?" "You're a consultant," says the shepherd.

"Wow! That's correct," says the yuppie, "but how did you guess that?"

"No guessing required," answered the shepherd. "You showed up here even though nobody called you; you want to get paid for an answer I already knew; to a question I never asked; & you don't know crap about my business ...... Now give me back my bloody dog."

Looks like TVB always likes to get siblings to join them. Jenny had her elder brother & so does Jacky. Jacky's brother is another familiar face on TV but he is not as adorable as Jacky. His name is Jaffrey Wong (王秉熹).

Even with my stresses & strains, my bp has been fantastic of late :)

When I went to see doc the other day though I haven't been having enough sleep & constant gastric attacks, it was still 130/80.

My doc was extremely pleased.. but not my boss! She said I was too dependent on these bp medicines which will ruin my kidneys & liver over time due to all the side-effects, jz like her mother. Good grief, right? Good & controlled bp also get complaints. I wonder what she aims to achieve by tell me such things..

Talking on the phone EVERYDAY!

Lately, I have been on international calls in the office practically everyday! Philippines-HongKong-Malaysia.. Wonder what my phone bill's gonna be like? Well, boss will answer for it on my behalf lor.

Boss' Presentation in the office

We had several guests come over to our office this morning for a "software" presentation. Actually the intention was to invite them to collaborate with us in a project. Boss did a fabulous job with the presentation. RR said he was totally impressed. It's the first time he witnessed her "in action".

Now comes the tough part. She told me that since I've seen her present, the next rounds I'll be the one handling the rest of the "clients". Woe hoe hoe...

RR thoroughly "cannot make it"!!

Don't be mistaken. Not saying that he is inefficient. But the way he functions totally buffles me. Strange line of thinking in his job. Constantly getting himself into "trouble" due to his stubbornness. Egoistic chap!

And of all times, he had to be on medical leave for 3 days this week. I have no problem with that since we are all entitled to 14 days of medical leave, but the problem with it was no one knew his work in his absence!! That, I have a problem with. He is really testing my patience.

He is absolutely ridiculous! Has asthma but doesn't want to take his medicine regularly.. Knew that he needs to get to work in the morning but has to wake up & take his medication in the middle of the night such that he'll end up drowsy by morning & is unable to go to office! Constantly having asthma attacks & yet insists on drinking cold/fizzy drinks for EVERY meal. Even his coffee he likes to take it COLD. I honestly think he is absolutely irresponsible & silly. He has to look after his mother & has a steady girlfriend. The least he should do is to keep himself healthy for them. From the way I see it, he is heading for suicide. Sigh..
