剑雪浮生 A Sentimental Journey

Just done with watching 剑雪浮生 on TV. Quite enjoyed it. This is the story about the inter-twining lives of 任剑辉 & 白雪仙 & 唐滌生. I've always liked <帝女花>, 唐滌生's best & most popular work by far. It's also my favourite.

Was never a fan of 陈宝珠 but, well, she's okay lah. Her son 杨天经 was also on stage acting together with her in this musical. Basically I like both 任剑辉 & 白雪仙.. Their performances lah, of course.. But the one who portrayed 白雪仙 was not that fantastic.. She's far from being like 白雪仙. But then again, no one can really be like her lah.. Guess they can't find any better. Heard that she received pretty good compliments for putting up a good show.

I was pleasantly surprised that 欧锦堂 was invited to portray 唐滌生. So apt. Like him, or rather his portrayal lah :)

Hmm.. But looking at some reviews, seems that they actually had 谢君豪 protraying the role. Wonder what happened?

The 1st performance was in 1999. That's when they had 谢君豪 acting as 唐滌生. This is the 2nd round they're playing this musical, & it was in 2005. This time they invited 欧锦堂 to play 唐滌生's role. I wonder who fits this role better..

Let me show you the real 唐滌生 - A very talented man..

He died very suddenly in 1959, during the debut performance of <再世红梅记> at the then famous HK Li Theatre, at the age of 42. 这对整个粤剧界来说，不但是个很大的震撼, 也是一个极大的遗憾！
