Seizures..

Sob! Sob! Lan Lan had her first seizure attack this morning around 8.30am. My mum alerted me of her strange behaviour & we kind of realised that she's having fits. Couldn't figure out what went wrong. After that she went back to normal & was roaming around the house.. I went out but when I got home, mum said she was ok.

Then at around 1.35pm, she had another seizure attack again! This was worse than the previous one & I think she actually soiled herself in her urine. Sigh! Poor baby. I got really scared & nervy seeing her that way. Decided to rush her to the vet after checking with a few of my pet acquaintances.

But when I got to the hospital, they only had one vet on duty today & she was having surgery & they are not opened till 3pm!! Woe is me! What to do? So was waited & waited, & ufortunately, the surgery dragged on after 3pm.. & at around 3.30pm, Lan had another attack while she's in her carrier. The staff quickly summoned the doc & her assistant came to attend to Lan. They gave her a jab & put her on IV. My poor darling, & poor me..

At around 3.45pm, they took her away for monitoring.. Later, the vet said they will put her in ICU for observation in case she gets more seizure attacks. Sad lah! Saw her before I left the hospital & she was kind of sedated & looked so pathetic :( I cried & cried. Now I'm so tired from all the stress & crying.. Sob.. Sob.. Sob..

Seems that cats seldom get seizures. That's why BT was telling me that it may be critical. Vel said the same thing.

Actually, the vet is still unable to ascertain the cause. They were asking if she had taken any "poisonous" stuffs.. Obviously NOT. right? Sigh..

Ooohhhhh.. Doc jz called to update me on Lan's status. Her ear infection seems to be really bad & it has gone to her inner ear & created a "big hole". It's all my fault! Doc also found out that her red cells count is extremely low & white cells count is much higher than normal. She said there might be a growth/tumour in her pancreas as such might cause low red cells count. & low red cells may sometimes cause seizures!! Else her liver & kidneys seem fine. So now they are treating her ear infection & also giving her high calorie food to boost her recovery. Hopefully everything's well & no more shocking discoveries & unnecessary complications..

Seems that my babies also like to choose festive seasons to fall ill on me :( Mac on Chinese New Year & now Lan on National Day.. Sigh!

One by one my loved ones got admitted to the hospital.. First mummy, then sister, & now Lan Lan.. Wonder when will it be my turn???
