FNA

Yesterday's experience at AH was... urrghhhhhh..

My appt was supposed to be at 11am. This time I made it a point not to be late! So when I arrived at 11.05am, I expected to get the procedure done within half an hr. Unfortunately, that didn't happen :(
I waited till 12+ & they told me that the patient before me had some complications so the wait will take longer than expected. I was then told to return at 2pm.

So I had to forego attending my afternoon talk in the office. When I returned at 2pm, they told me they need to do "cleaning up" so I had to wait for another 15 more mins. Sigh! Sigh! The staff nurse later brought me to a room & I started to cry when I thought of the "procedure" & the pain involved. Good grief, right? Yes. I cried & cried. Both she & the radiographer had to comfort me. Then the doc came & he had to "divert my attention" to something else.. & I must say he was rather successful :) Finally the pathologist came & my ordeal began..

The entire procedure took about 25 mins. They told me that it's a guided ultrasound but it's actually the fine needle aspiration biopsy that they're doing lor.. And the doc "poked" me FOUR TIMES!!! Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Ouch lor!! I cried so much that the radiographer had to keep wiping my tears for me.. Poor little old me.. So petrified of pain.. I really can't imagine.. I think many can't too.. The staff nurse was so shocked when she saw me cry. Sigh! So shameful hor? :(

Was pretty "shaken" after that. Felt a bit dizzy so had to rest for a while. Felt like I was "floating".. Sigh!

Rushed to office after that to catch the tail-end of the talk. Developed a bad migraine after that.. A real BAD one..
