So Sad..

Friend #1 - Married with a 11-yr old son. Working. Staying with in-laws. Husband's an architect but was unemployed for 2 yrs. Recently changed career & became a teacher. Her mum has a stroke & now completely bedridden.

Friend #2 - Single, staying with mother. Unemployed for a couple of yrs, only found a job recently. Father died a few yrs back. Committed suicide. Mother devastated, had nervous breakdown. Suspect friend's also suffering from some form of depression.

Friend #3 - Single, taking care of retired parents. Staying with brother & his family. Brother retrenched. Now gone to China to work. Comes back less than twice a yr. Sis-in-law stays home to look after children. Friend's been teaching in primary school for umpteen yrs but feeling very frustrated now. Contemplating change of career.

Friend #4 - Married with 2 daughters. Not working. Husband diagnosed of colon cancer in 2000. Now cured. Goes back for review half-yearly. Lately discovered some growth in his pancreas. Good thing he is still gainfully employed. Brother #1 used to be in real estate. During the economy downturn, no work cz no biz. Has one son. Wife diagnosed with breast cancer. He recently rented a foodstall in school canteen. Brother #2 used to be a lawyer with his own practice. Overly ambitious & "un.........". Was made a bankrupt some yrs back. Kept a China woman from Shanghai so his wife divorced him & took custody of all their children. Has 4 children by 1st wife & 3 by 2nd. Disgnosed with brain tumour. Tumour removed & now gainfully employed. Her father also had a bypass recently. Her mum is serving the Lord somewhere in China. Step-mum also disgnosed of cancer of some kind.

Friend #5 - Single. Got retrenched & remained unemployed for about 2 yrs. Now doing a 一脚踢 job with a foreign bank.

Friend #6 - Single. Been with an IT firm for over 10 yrs as manager. Now they tell her that she will be retrenched early next yr. She's very upset & depress now.
