The fall was bad. The A&E said she was ok but when we brought her to see the orthopedic doc at TTSH on Mar 19, we were told that she actually had a fracture on Mar 5. The fracture went unnoticed so now we need to monitor her for another 6 weeks in order to find out if there was any damage on her hip bone & whether or not she needs a surgery to correct the damage done by the first fracture.
The doc seems to be worried that the fracture may cause the bursting of blood vessels surrounding the hip bone, hence depriving the bone from receiving oxygen and may eventually be "dead"! Sigh.. It all sounds so complicated to me :(
Thank God when we returned to the hospital on Apr 29 for the review (another x-ray), we were told that the so-called lines of fracture are no longer clearly visible. Thus my mom has completely recovered from the fall. Praise the Lord!
